Event Information
Kayak for a Cure™ Victoria 2011 supporting Cancer patients and their families was a great success, thank you to our generous donors, paddlers, volunteers and sponsors !

Kayak for a Cure™ Victoria 2012 supporting Cancer patients and their families will take place on Sunday September 9th, 2012.

How do I register to paddle?
It’s easy!
Get your name on the official 2012 KFAC Victoria paddler list by sending an email to Don_Low@telus.net . Next, watch for Kayak for a Cure™email updates with more 2012 event details.

This is an amazing event, but I’m not keen on kayaking, can I register as a volunteer?
Yes! We need people like you to make Kayak for a Cure™Victoria happen. Drop an email to Don_Low@telus.net and we will sign you up and get you a position that best suits you. Volunteers are not required to raise funds but we definitely won’t stop you from doing so!

PADDLING
When is Kayak for a Cure™Victoria 2012 ?
Sunday September 9th, 2012.

I’ve never been in a kayak before. Can I still participate?
Of course! We’ll have several professionally trained kayak guides with us on the water to help you out. Visit one of your local kayak outfitters if you’re interested in learning to paddle before the event.

Can I paddle in a double kayak with a friend?
You bet, we’ll cater to your co-dependency! Kidding, but each of you must collect your own donations.

How about weather conditions?
As long as our guides say it’s safe enough to paddle, we are water bound! That said, this is Victoria – where weather changes at the drop of a dime. Prepare accordingly! Sunscreen, hat, jacket.

What happens after the paddle?
BBQ in the park! With support from Thrifty Foods, KFAC hosts a BBQ for all paddlers and volunteers in the Park.
